Join our friendly litter picking and community tidy-up group looking after our green spaces in Thames View & Barking Riverside, supported by Thames Life and Barking & Dagenham Council.

Our group aims to give opportunities for befriending, healthy outdoor walks and the chance to give something back to your neighbourhood via community clean-ups.

We meet every fortnight at the Thames Community Hub IG11 0LH to go litter picking and enjoy a fun activity afterwards. Plans for 2024 include free community walks, watercolouring, yoga and art workshops with Greenshoes Arts.

Our group is also looking for residents to help us reopen the closed Ripple Nature Reserve. To find out more about how you can help please email Alex.

Some of the green spaces we aim to tackle are:

  • The Ripple Greenway
  • Thames View Playing Field
  • Thames Shoreline
  • Creekmouth Park
  • Scrattons Eco Park
  • The Ripple Nature Reserve
    and many more.

Join us later in January for combined litter-picking and found art-making workshops with Green Shoes Arts. Dates and times are to be announced shortly.

Sessions are aimed at adults, but children are welcome if supervised by a parent or guardian.

Sessions are free but you must email in advance to book your place and to make sure we have enough equipment for all.

We advise you to wear closed shoes, check the weather and dress appropriately before attending. Litter-picking sticks, high-vis vests, bags and gloves are provided, so just come along bringing your best self!

For more information and to book your place please contact email Alex.
